Applications are open for our 2025 full-year childcare grants
The application for our 2025 full-year childcare grant is now open! Applications will be accepted until midnight eastern standard time on February 24, 2025.
We are pleased to announce that our full-year childcare grant program will be returning for the 2025 calendar year!
An advancement of our flagship Mothers in Medicine program, the Zorya Foundation’s full-year childcare grants go beyond providing one-time payouts to providing ongoing, year-long funding for childcare.
Expanding our offerings to include full-year childcare grants
Our applicants shared, and we listened. On average, our clinician mothers spent over a third of their monthly income last year on childcare alone. 81% of them have experienced burnout, mental health challenges or both as a result of navigating high-stress jobs alongside the demands of family and childcare. And 46% have reported, despite finding their work rewarding, wondering: is this really worth it?
One-time childcare grants were—and continue to be—successful in giving these clinician mothers a much-needed chance to breathe. However, they can only do so much in providing the time and support needed to help our mothers heal and thrive. Expanding our grant offerings to include full-year childcare funding is a continuation of our organizational commitment to do more and be better—and help our grantees be better, too.
Why?
Because we believe it is really worth it. In an industry where 80% of the workforce is female, helping women who want to have a career and family do both sustainably benefits not only these women and their families, but the patients they care for.
Grant specifics
Thanks to the generous donations of our corporate sponsors—Castlemark Consulting, Innsena, Arcadia and Kno2—and countless amazing individuals, we are able to offer five full-year grants at this time. These full-year grants will not replace our well-loved Mothers in Medicine program.
Recipients of the full-year grant will receive $1,000 a month for twelve months to help cover the cost of childcare.
Applications must be completed and submitted here through our website by midnight EST of Monday, February 24th. Applications will be reviewed and grantees chosen based on demonstrated need and availability of funds. Applicants not selected will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if additional funds become available.
Due to the ongoing nature of the full-year funding grant, regular contact with Zorya Foundation staff is required to complete and confirm monthly grant payments. Recipients of the grant will be notified by the end of March via email of their acceptance.
If you are a clinician and a mother and need assistance with childcare/caregiving costs, we invite you to apply.
